The world of internet video streaming is a powerful tool! However, there are many technical steps that send the video from our service. Almost all of them are outside the control of New Life. This page is designed to answer questions you may have and help you take steps that give you the best chance of being able to stay connected to our service.
Also, remember that you can simply click a previous spot on the red progress bar at the bottom of the video to “rewind” a few minutes so you don’t miss anything!
While we would like anyone who chooses our video stream to be able to connect (and stay connected) 100% of the time, there are simply too many variables outside of our control to guarantee that. When you visit a website, or check your email, you are using your internet connection in short bursts. In the case of video streaming, you have to maintain that connection constantly for a longer period of time. There is some information that might be helpful and a few tips we are providing here. We have sorted them by how you connect to our stream.
CHANGING THE VIDEO QUALITY ON YOUR VIDEO PLAYER
The video player SHOULD automatically change the video quality you see based on your internet connection. If you still have drop-outs, or the video quality is low, you can manually change the quality.
Simply click the GEAR icon in the corner of the video. That will bring up a box with a “Video Player” option. It will likely be set to “auto”, but you can manually adjust the quality up or down. REMEMBER. A smaller number is more stable, a larger number is higher quality!
WATCHING ON YOUR HOME INTERNET CONNECTION USING A DESKTOP OR LAPTOP COMPUTER
Most home internet connections are fast enough stream our video. However, you must remember that more devices connected to your home internet means a slower shared connection for all of them. If the stream stops on your home computer, make sure you are not sharing your connection speed with another person in the house watching Netflix (or any other kind of streaming video).
WATCHING ON YOUR PHONE USING YOUR MOBILE DATA
The biggest challenge of mobile data is that you don’t have a fixed connection speed. Your connection is HEAVILY affected by every other phone connecting to the same tower.
It is also affected by any other apps you have running on your phone. Most phones are regularly backing up data and using your connection to do it. Are you in a place where you can connect to Wi-Fi instead of your data plan? That almost always provides a more stable connection.
WATCHING ON YOUR PHONE WHILE TRAVELING
If you are driving, you are likely using your mobile data, and your phone is constantly switching the tower it connects to. While we don’t have “dropped phone calls” as often as we used to, staying connected to a constant video stream requires a much better connection than a phone call does.
If your phone is “roaming”, then the data package that you purchased from your local cell provider is at the mercy of someone else. As an example, Viaero has negotiated roaming connections with AT&T and T-Mobile, but Viaero customers receive the lowest priority for data usage when they are on those providers. Are you in a place where you can connect to Wi-Fi instead of your data plan? That almost always provides a more stable connection.
WATCHING AT A HOSPITAL OR ANY FIXED LOCATION

However, Wi-Fi isn’t always the perfect solution either. As we said before, more people sharing a connection means a slower connection for everyone.
